Cookie policy

Introduction

This Cookie Policy refers exclusively to the Medic4all.net site ("Site") and must be understood as an integral part of its Privacy Policy.

Definitions, characteristics, and application of the legislation

Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to their terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same sites at the next visit by the same user. While browsing a site, the user can also receive cookies on his terminal that are sent from different sites or web servers (so-called "third party" cookies), on which some elements may reside (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site that the same is visiting. Thanks to cookies, a site remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, the chosen language, font size, other display, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to visit that site or browse from one page to another. Cookies, therefore, are used for different purposes: execution of computer authentication, session monitoring, storage of information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, etc.

Cookies can remain in the system for the duration of a session (i.e. until the browser used for web browsing is closed) (so-called "session" cookies) or for long periods up to a predetermined deadline and may contain a unique identification code (so-called "persistent" cookies).

Cookies can be divided into three main categories: technical cookies, profiling cookies and third-party cookies.

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service" (see article 122, paragraph 1, of the Legislative Decree June 30, 2003, n. 196, hereinafter the "Privacy Code"). They are not used for other purposes and can be divided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate for log into to restricted areas);
  • analytical cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and about how they visit the site itself;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same.

The prior consent of users is not required for the installation of these cookies, while the obligation to provide information pursuant to art. 13 of the Privacy Code.

Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles based on their behaviour and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same in the context of surfing the net. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices may have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation requires the user to be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent.

The art. 122 of the Privacy Code where it provides that "the storage of information in the terminal device of a contractor or user or access to information already stored is allowed only on condition that the contractor or the user has given their consent after being informed in a manner simplified" (article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code).

Analytical cookies, including those of third parties, are also subject to the same discipline provided for profiling cookies, in the event that forms of anonymization by aggregating data or masking the user's IP address. Third-party cookies are cookies installed on the user's terminal by a person other than the owner of the site. The site does not control these cookies, therefore, to disable or refuse third-party cookies, consult the website of the relevant third party.

Types of cookies used by this Site

  • Technical and navigation cookies, for which no user consent is required.
  • Analytical cookies, including from third parties, and profiling cookies, with respect to which the specific consent of the user is required. The user can refuse to accept these cookies and disable them using the disable function in the following table.
  • Third-party cookies, with respect to which the Site is a technical intermediary. The Site does not control these cookies and to disable or reject these third-party cookies, the user must consult the website of the relevant third party.

How to view and modify cookies through your navigation program (so-called browser)

The user can select which cookies to authorize through the appropriate procedure set up in the settings section relating to cookies, as well as block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of your navigation program (so-called browser); however, in the event that all or some of the cookies are disabled, it is possible that the Site cannot be consulted or that some services or certain functions of the Site are not available or do not work correctly and / or the user may be forced to modify or manually enter some information or preferences every time will visit the Site.

For more information on how to set preferences on the use of cookies through your browser, you can consult the relevant instructions:
